Union Minister for Home Affairs, Shri Amit Shah presided over the signing of a historic agreement between Government of India, Government of Assam and Bodo representatives, in New Delhi, to end the over 50-year old Bodo crisis. Further, a permanent solution has been found out for the problem that has cost the region over 4000 lives. Present on the occasion were Chief Minister of Assam, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Convenor, NEDA and Assam Minister, Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Executive Member of BTC, Shri Hagrama Mohilary, representatives of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).

Cabinet approves ex-post facto the agreement between India and Uzbekistan on Cooperation

The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given ex-post facto approval on an Agreement between the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Republic of India and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Cooperation in the field of Combating Transnational Organized Crime and International Terrorism, that was signed by Union Home Minister and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Republic of Uzbekistan at New Delhi the visit of Hon'ble Minister of Internal Affairs of Republic of Uzbekistan to India.

Union Home Minister chairs High Level Meeting on Border Security

Union Minister for Home Affairs, Shri Amit Shah chaired High Level Meeting to review the current status of Border Security and measures to be taken to strengthen it further. The meeting was attended by Home Secretary, Secretary (Border Management), Special Secretary (Internal Security) and Directors General of Border Security Force, Sashastra Seema Bal, Indo-Tibetan Border Police and Assam Rifles, along with other senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

BPR&D to organize a National Level Seminar cum Exhibition and Demonstration on Anti-Drone Technology

The Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, is organizing a National Level Seminar cum Exhibition on Anti-Drone Technology at BPR&D, HQ New Delhi on September, 2019 and Demonstration at BSF Campus, Bhondsi, Haryana. The objective of the seminar cum exhibition and demonstration is to ensure that Police officers from all States, Union Territories, CAPFs, CPOs have updated information about Anti- Drone Technology and to explore the best comprehensive and compatible solution to control rogue drones.

Union Home Minister to inaugurate and lay foundation stone of various residential and office buildings of CAPFs, CPOs and Delhi Police

The Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh will inaugurate 28 major infrastructure projects of Central Armed Police Forces (BSF, CRPF, CISF, and ITBP & SSB), Delhi Police and other Central Police Organizations (Land Ports Authority of India, NDRF and Central Forensic Science Laboratory) at a function here. He will also lay foundation stone for three infrastructure projects of LPAI.

Cabinet approves MoU between Korea and India

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Korean National Police Agency, Republic of Korea and the Ministry of Home Affairs, India on combating transnational crime and developing police cooperation is proposed to be signed. The proposed MOU aims to improve the effectiveness of both countries in the prevention and suppression of crimes including crime relating to terrorism and transnational organized crime and to establish a framework for enhancing cooperation between the officials of intelligence and law-enforcement agencies of the two countries.

Proposals from States Under Coastal Security Scheme

The Government of India is implementing Coastal Security Scheme in all coastal States/UTs including Karnataka, in phases with the objective of strengthening infrastructure of Coastal Police for patrolling and surveillance of coastal areas, particularly shallow waters close to the coast. Phase-I of the Scheme was implemented during 2005-2011 based on the requirements projected by the coastal States/Union Territories. Phase-II of the Scheme is underway with effect from 01.04.2011 till 31.03.2020 on the basis of vulnerability/gap analysis carried out by coastal States/Union Territories which projected additional requirements for strengthening the coastal security infrastructure.

Ministry of Home Affairs has given security clearance to more than 1600 proposals

Ministry of Home Affairs has given security clearance to more than 1600 proposals in the past two years in critical sectors like defence, arms & ammunition, explosives, telecommunications, information and broadcasting, civil aviation, currency, shipping, etc. As per information provided by Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion and Reserve Bank of India, FDI through automatic route is under general permission and can be received without any approval, in compliance with the Foreign Exchange Management (Transfer or issue of security by a person resident outside India) Regulation, 2017.
